Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 30, 2026. This policy explains what information Bookkeeping Worksheets ("we", "us") collects, how we use it, and the choices and rights you have under United States federal and state law.

The short version: We collect only what we need to answer you and deliver your workbook. We do not sell your information. We do not share it for advertising. You can ask us to see it, fix it, or delete it at any time, and you can unsubscribe from emails with one reply.

1. Who we are

Bookkeeping Worksheets sells and distributes an Excel bookkeeping workbook for small businesses and offers a paid service to load your bank and credit card data into it. Based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Contact: Sales@bookkeepingworksheets.com.

2. Information we collect

  • Information you give us: your name, email address, business type, and what you write in your messages.
  • If you use our data-loading service: the bank and credit card downloads (transaction files) you choose to send us, and any notes you include. These can contain financial information. Please send only what is needed, and never send full account numbers, passwords, online banking logins, or Social Security numbers.
  • Automatic information: basic website data such as pages viewed, browser type, device type, and approximate location from your IP address, collected by our website host.
  • Email records: whether a message we send was delivered or bounced.

3. How we use information

  • To reply to your questions and send your workbook.
  • To load your data into the workbook and send it back, if you request that service.
  • To send you messages about the workbook, such as updates, when you have asked for them or are a customer.
  • To keep the website working and secure, and to comply with the law.

We do not use your financial files for any purpose other than preparing your workbook, and we do not use them to build profiles or train any systems.

4. We do not sell or share your information

We do not sell personal information, and we do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral (targeted) advertising, as those terms are defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act and similar state laws. We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you. We do not knowingly sell or share information of anyone under 16.

5. Who we give information to

Only service providers that help us run the business, such as our website host, email provider, and payment processor, and only for those purposes. We may also disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights or the safety of others. If the business is ever sold, your information may transfer to the new owner, who must honor this policy.

6. Your financial files: retention and deletion

If you send us transaction files for the data-loading service, we keep them only as long as needed to finish the work. We delete them after we deliver your finished workbook and you confirm it works, and in any case within 30 days after delivery unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Email correspondence may be kept longer for record keeping.

7. Email, text, and unsubscribe (CAN-SPAM)

We follow the federal CAN-SPAM Act. Our emails will identify us, will not use misleading subject lines or sender information, and will include our location and a way to opt out. To unsubscribe, reply to any email with the word "unsubscribe," or write to Sales@bookkeepingworksheets.com. We will honor your request within 10 business days (usually much sooner) and will not email you again for marketing. We may still send messages about an order or service you requested. We do not send marketing text messages.

8. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Know and access the personal information we hold about you and receive a copy.
  • Correct information that is wrong.
  • Delete your information.
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, targeted advertising, and certain profiling (we do none of these).
  • Limit the use of sensitive personal information.
  • Receive your data in a portable format.
  • Not be discriminated against for using your rights.
  • Appeal if we deny a request. Reply to our decision with the word "appeal" and we will review it. If you are still not satisfied, you may contact your state attorney general.

To make a request, email Sales@bookkeepingworksheets.com with the subject "Privacy request." We may need to confirm it is really you before acting. You may use an authorized agent; we may ask for proof of their authority. We respond within 45 days (or sooner if your state requires), and we may extend by another 45 days if we tell you why. There is no charge for reasonable requests.

9. State-specific notices

California (CCPA/CPRA, CalOPPA, "Shine the Light"). California residents have the rights listed above. In the past 12 months we have collected identifiers (name, email) and, for the data-loading service only, financial transaction information you provided; we have not sold or shared personal information. California residents may ask once a year what personal information we disclose to third parties for their direct marketing; we disclose none. We honor browser signals such as Global Privacy Control as an opt-out of sale or sharing, although we do neither.

Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Delaware, Iowa, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Tennessee, Minnesota, Maryland, Indiana, Kentucky, Rhode Island, and other states with consumer privacy laws. Residents have the rights described in section 8, including the right to appeal a denied request. We do not process personal information for targeted advertising, sale, or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

Nevada. We do not sell covered information as defined by Nevada law. You may still send an opt-out request to the email above.

Washington and other states with consumer health data laws. We do not collect consumer health data.

Some of these laws apply only to businesses above certain size or data thresholds. We choose to offer these rights to all U.S. residents.

10. Children

Our website and services are for business owners and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (COPPA) or sell information of anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.

11. Cookies and tracking

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our website host may use essential cookies and basic analytics to keep the site working. Because we do not track you across other sites, "Do Not Track" and Global Privacy Control signals do not change how we handle your information.

12. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, such as access controls and encrypted connections. No method of sending or storing data is completely secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the authorities as required by law.

13. Links to other sites

Our site may link to other websites, such as Etsy. Their privacy practices are their own.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a material change we will post it here and, if you are on our email list, tell you.
